Meeting communications challenges during the pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic brought a lot of new challenges to the forefront. It increased the demand for telemedicine services and the need to decontaminate high-end devices, along with many others. First responders across the country have relied on FirstNet to stay mission ready for any challenge and to keep their communities safe.

“Our emergency manager had the National Guard on the way to set up COVID-19 testing locations,” said Elliot Linke, director of emergency communications for Ford County. “And they showed up with no communications support. We supported the National Guard with data and voice services. And we coordinated all of that through emergency management.”

FirstNet®, Built with AT&T is the wireless network designed with and first responders. FirstNet now covers more first responders than any other wireless network. And it’s helping to keep first responders and those who support them stay mission critical, whatever the crisis. That included the COVID-19 pandemic.

From rugged devices to connectivity in quarantine, first responders across the country faced unique communications needs during the pandemic. Hear how FirstNet helped first responders in Madison County, IN, meet these challenges.
